Pharmacies Without Borders:
New Skills for Embracing Language and Cultural Diversity in Pharmacies

webinar-main.png

On November 7th at 1:00pm (EST), we held the Pharmacies Without Borders webinar, hosted by En-Vision America and BCT Partners! This 90-minute webinar explored challenges, best practices, and new legal requirements for pharmacy professionals serving diverse patients. Since 2016, the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education has mandated that pharmacy programs assess and teach cultural competency.

As America becomes more racially and culturally diverse, pharmacy professionals need to be re-tooled to address health disparities, provide language access, and support transgender patients.

Pharmacy professionals are well-positioned to reduce healthcare disparities by increasing accessible services and community outreach. This webinar offered guidance on increasing cultural responsiveness and complying with new regulations, including new ACA Section 1557 regulations affecting language access and services for people with disabilities.
